The first landmark you'll encounter is the iconic Palar bridge. கள்ளு (Toddy) Morning: To fully experience this, you'll need to wake up bright and early, around 4:30 AM, and make your way to the designated spot to savor fresh, pure palm toddy. The sight of towering trees at this early hour creates a serene ambiance, and enjoying the toddy on an empty stomach is truly a divine experience. Private bus services are also available for booking, offering flexibility in transportation options. Packing Tips : There isn't much specific to mention for packing tips, but one thing to remember is to pack extra towels and dry-fit clothes. This is especially important as you'll be indulging in falls baths during the itinerary. Let's start !!! If you're planning a trip to Theni, I highly recommend it, especially for the breathtaking natural beauty that unfolds after crossing Madurai. As the tr

Vellagavi - The Unexplored Kodaikanal

Image
We should all accept the fact that social media has changed the way we travel. While scrolling through some uninspiring reels and blogs about Kodaikanal and Poombarai, I stumbled upon an unheard-of place called Vellagavi . Despite having no prior knowledge about this location, an unavoidable urge drove me to include it in my upcoming travel plans. In today's era, travel is often driven by a desire to discover unique, unexplored destinations, with the goal of being among the first to experience them. However, as this trend gains momentum, it is crucial to consider its impact on the socio-economic fabric of these emerging tourism hotspots. Sharing my experiences and exposing such places, like Vellagavi, may alter the essence of the location and its people. Exploring new destinations and experiences is wonderful, but responsible and considerate travel choices are essential. Allow me to introduce Vellagavi, a small and enchanting village in Kodaikanal. This remote village is not connec

Kumaoni Konnect : Finding Peace and Adventure in Uttarakhand

Image
Hello everyone! After a month of procrastination, I am thrilled to finally share my incredible experience of a 4-night/5-day trip to the five Kumaon regions of Uttarakhand. Packing Tips: Thermals (top and bottom, not compulsory but recommended). Gloves (essential for roaming around places after 6 PM). Trekking/Boots/Normal Waterproof shoes (important for walking in slippery or tough terrains). Woolen socks and beanies are compulsory. Winter jacket (one that can withstand temperatures below 10°C). Scarf and mufflers are optional based on your resistance to cold. Small shoulder bag for carrying essentials during sightseeing. Handkerchiefs, tissues, and Zandu Balm/Axe Oil will be helpful if you catch a cold. Carry tablets for fever and cold. Since it was my first time visiting cold regions like this, I bought everything new from Decathlon (Perungudi) and Travellers Empire (Thoraipakkam). https://maps.app.goo.gl/XR7FgXaYPjWKM57G8 - Decathlon https://maps.app.goo.gl/s15qJ4oWtyCJ3Ku49 - Tr
